Katie Chafi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Katie started their career at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they served as a Special Assistant for Political Affairs in the Student Government Association from June 2004 to November 2005. Katie then joined Capital One in December 2008 as a High Risk Customer Investigator and worked until January 2010.
In 2010, Katie joined URS Corporation as the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Coordinator from April to November, and then transitioned to the role of PTS-Post Preliminary Lead RAMPP for the Federal Emergency Management Agency from November 2010 to July 2011.
Afterwards, they joined Harris Williams in May 2011 as an Aerospace, Defense, and Government Deal Execution Assistant. Katie worked in this role until January 2014, when they became the Aerospace, Defense, and Government Services Senior Executive Assistant, a position they held until January 2016. Katie then took on the role of Administrative Team Lead at Harris Williams from January 2016 to January 2018. Katie'smost recent role at the company is Manager, Operations, a position they have held since January 2018. Katie has recently transitioned into the role of Technology Risk Specialist, starting in July 2022.
Katie Chafi completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness from Virginia Commonwealth University, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. Following their undergraduate degree, Katie obtained additional certifications. In April 2010, they obtained the "Protected Critical Infrastructure Information" certification from LENS. Later, in September 2019, they earned the "Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB)" certification from Virginia Commonwealth University. In November 2019, Katie Chafi obtained the "Leading Effective Teams Certification," also from Virginia Commonwealth University.
