Shivakumar Ningappa has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Shivakumar started their career as a Software Engineer at Global Edge Software, where they worked on HP-UNIX commands and was responsible for fixing defects and creating patches. Shivakumar then moved on to Nokia Siemens Networks, where they worked as an Engineer in Software Development. Their role involved working on Access Integrator, a network management solution, and implementing new features for better performance.

After that, Shivakumar joined VMware as an MTS Intern, where they gained valuable experience in software development. Shivakumar then transitioned to Bloomberg as a Financial Software Developer, where they redesigned and implemented an internal localization tool, added language support, and improved the data structure for data image files.

Next, Shivakumar joined Verizon as a Sr Software Engineer, where they worked on the FiOS IVAPP provisioning platform and enhanced the iConfig interface using C++, ESQL/C++, and Perl. Shivakumar also designed and implemented a multithreaded centralized inventory system.

Following their time at Verizon, Shivakumar moved to Yahoo!, where they worked as a Principal Software Engineer. Shivakumar was a founding member of Yahoo Gemini, a unified advertising and search ads marketplace, and played a key role in its growth. Shivakumar also architected and led a team in developing data processing systems using Storm, Java, and Hadoop.

Shivakumar then joined Uber ATG as a Tech Lead, where they led the Simulation search team and designed a system for regression prediction, resulting in faster and cost-efficient simulation testing for self-driving software. Shivakumar also played a crucial role in designing and building simulation infrastructure on AWS.

Currently, Shivakumar is working at Harness as a Technical Director. In their role, they lead technical initiatives and is responsible for driving the company's technical strategy. Shivakumar has extensive experience in software architecture and has previously held the role of Software Architect and Principal Software Engineer at Harness.

Shivakumar Ningappa holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from Syracuse University.
