Darrel Holmes has over 30 years of work experience in the medical device and environmental assessment industries. From 2017 to 2011, they were the Chief Operating Officer of Harland Medical Systems, Inc. and Xtant Medical/Bacterin International, Inc. respectively. From 2003 to 2000, they held the role of Vice President Medical Devices at Bacterin, Inc., where they were responsible for establishing manufacturing, quality, facilities, engineering, and IT infrastructure. From 2000 to 1997, they were the Vice President of Operations and COO at NorthStar Environmental. From 1997 to 1995, they were the Vice President of Operations at Big Spring Water Company, and from 1995 to 1986, they were the Senior Manager at Stratagene and Director of Operations at Hycor Biomedical.

Darrel Holmes attended Upper Columbia Academy from 1968 to 1972 and then California State University, Long Beach from 1978 to 1984, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
