Phillip Weicker, P.E. has extensive work experience in the automotive industry, particularly in the field of battery systems and electric powertrain development. Phillip is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Harbinger since March 2021. Previously, they held various roles at Canoo from 2017 to 2020, including being in charge of Powertrain and Electronics as well as being a Co-Founder. During their time at Canoo, they led the clean-sheet development of electric drive systems, battery systems, power electronics, and electrical architecture.

Before Canoo, Weicker worked at Faraday Future from 2015 to 2017, where they served as the Director and Senior Manager of Battery Systems. Prior to that, they worked at QuantumScape as the Director of Battery Systems from 2013 to 2015. In addition to their experience in the automotive industry, Weicker also has experience in engineering and product development. For instance, they co-created the Carpool de Ville, a 1969 Cadillac Coupe de Ville convertible modified to function as a fully operational hot tub.

Weicker's earlier career includes roles at CODA Automotive, Inc. as a Senior Director in HV/Battery Engineering and Battery Management Engineering from 2011 to 2013, as well as at EnergyCS as the Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager from 2008 to 2011. Before that, they worked at Infolytica Corp. as an Engineer from 2004 to 2008.

Throughout their career, Weicker has demonstrated expertise in battery systems, power electronics, electrical architecture, and electric vehicle development.

Phillip Weicker, P.E. obtained their Master of Engineering degree in Computational Electromagnetics from McGill University, where they studied from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University, graduating in 2001. Apart from their formal education, Phillip Weicker also holds the certification of Professional Engineer, which they obtained from the California Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors in December 2011.
