Jacques le Roux has a strong background in software engineering and management. Jacques has most recently worked as an Engineering Manager at Happening since 2023. Prior to that, they served as an Engineering Manager at William Hill from August 2022 to December 2022, and as a Software Engineering Team Lead from May 2021 to July 2022.

Before joining William Hill, Jacques was a Senior Software Engineer at BrightTALK from September 2018 to April 2021. Jacques played a key role in architecting and developing a webinar platform using technologies such as Scala, Akka, Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS services.

Prior to that, Jacques worked at UBS as an Associate Director - Senior Software Developer from September 2017 to August 2018, where they contributed to building a distributed pricing engine for equity derivatives using Scala.

Earlier in their career, Jacques held positions at Markit as a Vice President, where they designed and developed a rest service in Scala using Akka HTTP, and at Standard Bank Group as a Development Manager, where they managed a development team and oversaw the deployment of an Exotics trading solution.

Jacques began their career at Entelect Solutions as a Team Lead, working on the development of 1Time airline's website and administration front end. Jacques then worked at Digital Matter as a Developer, where they contributed to the design and implementation of a system named Service Tracker.

Jacques le Roux attended the University of Johannesburg from 2000 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. During the same period, they also studied Information Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree. In April 2018, Jacques obtained a certification in Software Security from Coursera.
