Bert Sarens has a diverse work experience with various roles in different companies. bert started their career in 2009 as a c#.NET Developer at AnsWARE Nv. Later, they worked as a Systeembeheerder at Ghent University in 2011. In the same year, they also worked as a Praktijklector at KAHO Sint-Lieven. In 2012, they joined Fnac Vanden Borre as a Developer, and later became the Internal Development Manager. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Softwarearchitect at Fnac Vanden Borre. In 2020, they joined Napoleon Sports & Casino as a Squad Lead and later became the Head of Platform. Currently, they are working as an Engineering Manager at Happening, starting from July 2023.

Bert Sarens obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronica-ICT from Katholieke Hogeschool 'Sint-Lieven', Gent, during the period from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, they acquired several certifications including "Jira: Advanced Administration" from LinkedIn in November 2021, "Certified SAFe® 5 Scrum Master" from Scaled Agile, Inc. in December 2020, and "AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner" from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2023.
