Laurie Porthouse has extensive experience in community engagement and education, currently serving in the EDI Community Engagement Unit at Hamilton Police Service since March 1994 and as a part-time instructor in Advanced Police Studies at Mohawk College since 2014. Laurie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo, a Leadership and Inclusion Certificate in EDI from Centennial College, and a Business Diploma with an HR Certificate also from Mohawk College. Additional education includes studies at the University of Alberta and the University of Toronto.
