Flavio Fontana

Engineering Lead For Digital Solutions at Hamilton Medical

Flavio Fontana has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Flavio is currently working at Hamilton Medical as an Engineering Lead for Digital Solutions, a position they have held since December 2022. Prior to this, they were a Team Leader and Product Owner at the same company from August 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Hamilton Medical, Flavio worked at Verity from November 2015 to June 2021. During their tenure, they held the position of Head of Systems & Control. Flavio was responsible for the development of an indoor drone system for live entertainment and industrial applications. Flavio'srole involved people management, lead development for flight controls and safety algorithms, and management of interdisciplinary projects and teams. Flavio also worked as an R&D Engineer at Verity from November 2015 to October 2017.

Flavio's career began at the Robotics and Perception Group, where they were a System Engineer from April 2013 to August 2015. Here, they developed a testbed for aerial robots, specifically for research on vision-based flight for search and rescue applications.

Flavio briefly worked as the CEO of Fontana AG in 2012 and as an Intern at ALSTOM Inspection Robotics Ltd from May 2011 to September 2011. Prior to that, they co-founded f-systems GmbH in April 2007 and held the position of Co-Founder until December 2010.

Flavio also has teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at ETH Zurich from 2008 to 2010.
