David Kalimuthu focuses his practice on the defense of medical malpractice claims against hospitals, medical professionals, and other healthcare facilities. He has defended cases from early investigations all the way through jury trial. He also has broad experience defending employers and insurance carriers against workplace and personal injury claims.

Prior to joining HPS, David practiced medical malpractice and long-term care defense at another defense firm. While in law school, he served as editor of the The John Marshall Law School Law Review and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in both Administrative Law and Real Estate Transactions. David was recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in both 2019 and 2020, a distinction awarded to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in Illinois each year.
