Joseph Thao has worked in various roles as an Electrical Engineer. Joseph started their career in 2014 as a Front Desk Receptionist at Metropolitan State University of Denver. In 2016, they worked as an Electrical Engineer Intern at Ready Foods Inc. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as an Engineer 1 at Pike Corporation. Joseph then joined LDIS, LLC in 2019 and worked as an Electrical Engineer until 2020. In 2020, they joined Selah Engineering and Design, LLC as an Electrical Engineer. Currently, they are working at Halker Consulting as an Electrical Engineer.

Joseph Thao attended Metropolitan State University of Denver from 2011 to 2017, where they pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Joseph specialized in Power and Control System Analysis during their time at the university.
