Howard Sherrington has over 17 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 2004, they worked as a System Owner at MIDAS until 2006. From 2006 to 2011, they served as a Governance Manager and Technical Project Manager at The University of Salford. In 2012, they worked as a Microsoft Active Directory Migration SME/Engineer at Univar, and later that year, they joined HSherrington Ltd as an IT Infrastructure Consultant and SME. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Microsoft Office 365 Migration SME and Engineer, as well as a Cisco AnyConnect and ScanSafe Implementation SME at Univar. In 2014, Howard started working at Capita Travel and Events as an IT Infrastructure SME and Product Owner. Howard then joined the BBC as a Senior Network Solution Architect, Lead Network Technologist/Solution Architect, and later as an Enterprise Architect and Head of Technology Enterprise Networks and Security. In 2021, they joined Zscaler as the Director of Transformation Strategy and also became a Board Member at the Cloud Security Alliance - UK Chapter. In 2022, they worked as a Solution Architect at GSK and is currently employed as a Principal Solution Architect at Haleon.

- In 2020, they received certifications from Zscaler, including ZCCP-PA (Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional - Private Access), ZCCA-IA (Zscaler Certified Cloud Administrator - Internet Access), ZCCP-IA (Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional - Internet Access), and ZCCA-PA (Zscaler Certified Cloud Administrator - Private Access).

- In 2019, they obtained a Silver Peak SD-WAN Professional SPSP certification.

- In 2018, they completed the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) program at the Cisco Networking Academy with a focus on Routing & Switching.

- In 2011, they became a Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist in Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration.

- In 2008, they attained a Prince 2 Practitioner certification from APMG.

- From 2004 to 2006, they pursued a Diploma in Enterprise from the Institute of Leadership & Management.

- In 1998, they graduated from The University of Manchester with a BSocSc/Sociology degree, specializing in Sociology.

Additionally, in December 2022, they obtained the Zero Trust Certified Architect (ZTCA) certification from Zscaler.
