Lisa Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. Lisa began their career as an Associate in the Litigation Department at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP in 1992 and worked there until 1997. Following this, they served as an Attorney Advisor in the Mass Media Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission from 1997 to 1999. Lisa then transitioned to CompCounsel as a Vice President from 1999 to 2001. Lisa subsequently joined The Jewish Federations of North America as an Assistant Director, overseeing Planned Giving and Endowments from 2001 to 2003. In 2004, Lisa worked as an Attorney at Smith & Laquercia, LLP for a year. Lisa then joined The Adam Institute, a non-profit organization, as a Development Officer in 2007. Lisa's most recent experience has been at Hadassah, where they have held various roles since 2008. These roles include serving as a Planned Giving Attorney from 2008 to 2012, an Associate Director of Planned Giving and Estates from 2012 to 2017, a Director of Trusts and Estates from 2017 to 2023, and their current position as Deputy Chief Planned Giving & Estates Officer since 2023. In their current role, they oversee Hadassah's national bequests program, supervises a team of bequest administrators, manages bequest litigation, cultivates bequest and planned giving donors, and promotes Hadassah's legacy society.

Lisa Smith attended Jericho Senior High School from 1982 to 1985. After completing high school, they enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree from 1985 to 1988. Subsequently, Lisa furthered their education at the New York University School of Law, where they obtained a Juris Doctor degree between 1989 and 1992.
