Sarah Lechner is a seasoned healthcare executive currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief of External Affairs at Hackensack Meridian Health since November 2020, after previously holding the position of Senior Vice President for Policy Development and Government Affairs at RWJBarnabas Health. With extensive experience in legal counsel and government affairs, Lechner served as General Counsel for the New Jersey Hospital Association, advising on compliance and regulatory issues within the healthcare sector. Prior to that, Lechner was Deputy General Counsel for the NJ Senate Democratic Office, managing legislative matters related to banking and consumer affairs. A foundational legal career includes roles as an Associate at Lum, Drasco & Positan and as a Law Clerk for Hon. Erminie L. Conley in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Lechner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The George Washington University and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School.
