Andreas Scherer

Andreas Scherer has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Andreas began their career in 1992 at Credit Suisse Ltd, where they held various positions until 2009. These roles included Audit Manager, Credit Officer for Corporate Clients, and Auditor. From 2009 to 2013, they served as Deputy Head of Internal Audit/Vice Director at Kantonalbank of Lucerne Ltd. From 2013 to 2014, Scherer worked at EY as a Consultant Manager, providing financial accounting, reporting, and audit services to companies in the financial industry. Andreas then joined Mazars Switzerland as a Senior Manager from 2014 to 2018. At Saxo Bank Switzerland, they held the positions of Head of Regulatory Finance from 2018 to 2021 and Head of Regulatory Finance and Tax from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they serve as the CFO of Switzerland/DIFC UAE Branch at Habib Bank AG Zurich.

Andreas Scherer began their education in 1983 and completed their elementary and secondary schooling in 1992. During this time, they did not obtain a degree or specialize in a specific field of study.

In 1992, they enrolled in the Commercial School Zurich, where they pursued a Commercial Apprenticeship with a focus on Banking and Financial Support Services. Andreas successfully completed this program in 1995.

Afterwards, Scherer attended the University of Applied Sciences from 1999 to 2003 and obtained a Bachelor's degree, majoring in Auditing & Controlling. This program provided him with a solid foundation in the areas of auditing and financial management.

In 2004, they pursued further professional education at the Swiss Public Accountant Academy and studied Auditing. Andreas completed this program in 2007 and became a Swiss Certified Public Accountant.

Scherer's commitment to continuous professional development led him to enroll in the IIA Switzerland in 2010. Andreas successfully completed the Certified Internal Auditor program in 2011, further enhancing their expertise in auditing.
