Frank Gerits is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in the field of history and international relations. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer in the History of International Relations at Universiteit Utrecht since August 2017, Frank has also held the position of research fellow at the University of the Free State since January 2016. As a Senior Editor for History, Politics, IR, and Social Science at the European Journal of American Studies and an H-Grad editor for H-Net: Humanities & Social Sciences On-Line, Frank actively engages with the academic community. Frank's doctoral research at the European University Institute focused on the ideological competition over Africa's future during the Cold War. Additional roles include lecturing on Cold War history at KU Leuven and being a post-doctoral fellow at New York University. Frank's educational background includes multiple degrees from KU Leuven and the European University Institute, culminating in a Master of Philosophy.
