Dr. Jana Boerger currently serves as Senior Director of Warehouse AI at GXO Logistics, Inc. since September 2024. Prior to this role, Dr. Boerger was a Senior Data Scientist at Arkestro and held various positions at Shopify, including Senior Data Scientist in Shopify Logistics and Data Science Intern in Shopify Fulfillment Network. Dr. Boerger has extensive experience in data science and machine learning, particularly in logistics and inventory management, demonstrated through a Graduate Research Assistant position at Georgia Institute of Technology, where responsibilities included leading the Physical Internet Center and managing industry research engagements. With a strong academic background that includes a PhD in Machine Learning and multiple master's degrees in Industrial Engineering and Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Logistics from TU Dortmund University, Dr. Boerger has contributed to projects involving deep reinforcement learning and capacity management for cold chain logistics.
