Melissa Hayes has extensive work experience in marketing, communications, and brand leadership. Melissa is currently the Group General Manager Marketing at GWA Group Limited, where they lead the transformation agenda for brand strategy and customer experience across various channels. Prior to that, they founded a technology start-up called PiXCo, which provides consulting advisory services in product information and experience management. Melissa has also served as the Board Chair and Non-Executive Director at Pink Hope. In their previous roles, Melissa has held leadership positions at Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety/Blackwoods, Quantium, BOC South Pacific, Tyco International/ADT Security, and Beeby Advertising & Marketing. Their responsibilities in these roles included marketing, brand management, communications, and business development. Melissa has a proven track record of driving revenue growth, improving customer engagement, and implementing digital strategies.
Melissa Hayes completed their Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Macquarie University from 1989 to 1992. In 2004, they pursued an Executive MBA from Mt Eliza Business School, specializing in Business Administration and Management. In 2015, Melissa attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors, where they completed a course in Governance for NFP Board Directors. Additionally, in December 2018, they obtained certification as a Mental Health First Aider from Mental Health First Aid Australia.
