Julie Barbary has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Julie started their career at Deloitte & Touche LLP where they worked from 1995 to 2004, rising from Audit Staff to Audit Manager. During this time, they gained experience in external audits and business advisory services for clients across various industries.
After leaving Deloitte, Julie worked as a Controller at JC Produce LLC, a private distributor of fresh produce and perishables, from 2004 to 2008. Julie was responsible for the accounting department, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Following their role at JC Produce LLC, Julie served as a Controller at BloodSource, a not-for-profit Blood Bank, from 2008 to 2013. Here, they managed the accounting department and was responsible for financial reporting and analysis.
In 2013, Julie joined EMS USA, Inc. as the Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting. Julie held this position for 1.5 years and was responsible for overseeing the month-end close, supervising a team of accountants, and preparing financial reports for the CFO and management.
Julie later became the Director of Accounting at Ignite Restaurant Group in 2015, where they were responsible for accounting operations.
Currently, Julie works as the Director of Business Operations at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, a position they have held since 2016.
Julie Barbary earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting from the University of Quebec in Canada between 1991 and 1995. Prior to that, they completed a Science DEC (Diploma of College Studies) at CEGEP de l'Outaouais from 1989 to 1991. Julie has also obtained certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
