Udo Benz has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Udo started their career in 2001 as a Simulation Engineer at Wyman-Gordon Forgings/PCC, where they supported the design of multi-step forging processes. Udo performed simulations to ensure proper fill of dies without exceeding press load limits. In 2001, they also worked as a Research Engineer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, developing Java/J2EE applications and supporting the development of medical image processing software.
In 2005, Udo joined Accenture as a Web Developer. Udo designed and developed applications using the Struts framework with Hibernate/Oracle. Udo also maintained and supported a large application that included a Content Management Application and a Content Delivery Application.
From 2007 to 2013, Udo worked at GTxcel (formerly Texterity) as a Senior Software Developer. Udo developed and maintained smartphone and tablet magazine reader applications for both Android and iOS platforms. Udo also extended a J2EE ecommerce framework to build the shopping cart front end for a digital magazine newsstand site.
In 2013, Udo worked at FW Davison & Company as a Senior Software Engineer. Udo designed and built a java-library to stream back large reports upon successful authentication. Udo also maintained a human resource on-boarding web application written in xforms/xquery and XML database with java integration layer to the backend system.
Since 2013, Udo has been working at GTxcel as a Senior Software Developer.
Udo Benz has a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. Udo also holds a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe in Karlsruhe, Germany. Additionally, Udo participated in an exchange program at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (ENSAM) in Aix-en-Provence, France, during the academic year 1995-1996.
