Douglas Frey, P.E., LEED AP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of mechanical engineering.

Douglas currently holds the position of Associate Vice President at Grumman|Butkus Associates, a role they have been in since December 2023. Douglas is responsible for managing and designing various projects in the pharmaceutical research, educational/research laboratories, clean rooms, small data centers, and hospitals sectors. Douglas has extensive experience in leading teams of different sizes and disciplines, developing client relationships, managing project finances, and drafting contracts. Douglas actively contributes to the firm's productivity by creating standard details, specifications, diagrams, documentation, and training materials.

Prior to their current role, Douglas worked as an Associate at Grumman|Butkus Associates from December 2011 to December 2023. During this time, they were involved in similar management and design responsibilities for pharmaceutical research, educational/research laboratories, clean rooms, small data centers, and hospitals. Douglas was also a Project Manager at the same company from April 2006 to December 2011.

Before joining Grumman|Butkus Associates, Douglas served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Teng & Associates from October 2004 to April 2006. Here, they utilized their expertise in mechanical engineering to contribute to various projects.

Douglas gained early experience as a Project Leader at Peter Basso Associates from June 1999 to October 2004. Prior to that, they attended Rochester Adams High School from 1989 to 1994. Douglas has also earned several professional certifications, including being a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Texas (obtained in 2020), Illinois (obtained in 2008), and Michigan (obtained in 2002). Additionally, they are a LEED AP certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, achieved in 2009.
