Emily Ray, PhD, is a Senior Engineering Manager at Grubhub, leading four teams focused on data integrity, machine learning for personalized search solutions, and business insights since April 2018. Prior to Grubhub, Emily held various roles at IBM, including Research Staff Member for Data and Analytics for Social Good, where applications of data science were utilized for social benefits. Emily's academic background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Physics from Vanderbilt University. Throughout a career spanning over a decade, Emily has demonstrated expertise in machine learning, data science, and applied research across different sectors, with significant achievements in classification models and user query optimization.
