Dougie McGurty's work experience begins in 2010, where they worked as a Project Manager at NHS Tayside until 2015. Following this, they joined Halliburton in 2015 as a Cementer in the Oil and Gas industry until 2018. In 2018, they worked at Global Resources UK as a Roustabout and later as a Roughneck until 2019. Dougie then moved to Oil Consultants Ltd in 2019, where they worked in Cementing Services until April of that year. From April 2019 to January 2020, they worked at D13 O&G LTD in Oil & Gas - Cementing and Drilling Services. Currently, since January 2020, Dougie McGurty is a Co-Founder at The Grow Group, leading the creative team and focusing on financial efficiency and resource allocation.

Dougie McGurty obtained a BSc degree in Sport, Health, and Exercise from the University of Abertay Dundee, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. Later in their education journey, in 2020, they pursued a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) at The London Institute of Banking & Finance, completing it in 2021. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institute in 2021 and acquired a Certificate in Regulatory Equity Release (CeRER).
