Romano Ting

Co-founder and Head of Culinary at Grouu

Romano Ting has a diverse work experience in the culinary industry. In 2006, they started their career as a Junior Sous Chef at Hilton Singapore Orchard, where they worked until 2009. From 2009 to 2014, Romano served as a Sous Chef at Gunther's in Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar. In 2014, they became the Chef Owner of Avec Moi Jakarta, a casual French dining establishment in Jakarta CBD, which unfortunately closed during the pandemic in 2020.

From 2020 onwards, Romano has held several positions. Romano worked as a Food Consultant for Imperial Group, a leading Jakarta-based restaurant group, where they provided consulting services for menu variety and new product development. Romano also served as a Chef/Consultant for Orang Tua Group. Additionally, Romano became the Head Chef for Café Kitsuné in Jakarta, overseeing food products and operations. Currently, they are the Co-founder and Head of Culinary at Grouu Baby Food, a startup catering to the needs of Indonesian families by offering quality baby and family-focused gourmet food products.

Romano Ting attended SHATEC - The International Hotel & Tourism School in Singapore from 2005 to 2006, where they obtained a Diploma of Education in Restaurant/Food Services Management. Prior to this, they attended Lodge School Kuching, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
