Sven Nelson has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Sven is currently working as the Director of Plant Science at Gropod since May 2021. Sven previously held the position of Scientist III: Plant Physiology/Greenhouse Management at BioConsortia, Inc. from August 2018 to May 2021. Prior to that, Sven worked as a Research Molecular Biologist at USDA-ARS/University of Missouri from July 2015 to August 2018, where they conducted research on hormonal and transcriptional responses of wheat seminal roots to water stress. Sven also served as a PhD Graduate Student at Washington State University from June 2010 to May 2015, focusing on transcriptomic and hormonal analyses in Arabidopsis seed dormancy. Sven started their career as an Assistant Language Teacher in Furano-City Board of Education via the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program from July 2005 to July 2007, where they taught English in several schools.
Sven Nelson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Plant Molecular Biology, which was obtained from Washington State University from 2010 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Zoology at Washington State University between 2001 and 2005. Currently, Sven is pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, starting in 2020. No end year has been specified for their ongoing studies.
