Yasin Cotur, PhD has experience in various fields including electronic engineering and biomedical research. Yasin co-founded Animl Tech where they lead the development of wearable sensing systems for dogs to monitor their activity, heart rate, and respiratory rate. Yasin is also an Electrical Engineer at Gripable and their work focuses on designing a device for kids with cerebral palsy to improve their motor skills. Yasin has also worked at Imperial College London and contributed to developing wearable sensors for vital signs monitoring in dogs. Yasin was also a chief technology officer at SPYRAS, where they were responsible for developing a breathing wearable device that utilizes a paper-based sensor for respiratory analytics. Yasin's experience also includes working as a Researcher at TUBITAK and as a Teaching Assistant at Bogazici University, where they used machine learning techniques to control a cognitive prosthetic hand.
Yasin Cotur, PhD began their education in 2008 at Boğaziçi University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In 2011, they briefly studied at Kansas State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. Cotur returned to Boğaziçi University and earned their Master's Degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from 2013 to 2015. Cotur then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at UCL, where they studied from 2015 to 2016. Yasin continued their Ph.D. studies in Bioengineering at Imperial College London from 2016 to 2021, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
