Timothy Barat has extensive experience in the electrical industry. In 2012, they founded Barat Electrical Pty. Ltd. and served as the Founder, CEO, Lineman, and Electrician. In 2013, they worked as a Journeyman Electrician for Nelson Electric. From 2014 to 2020, they worked for Power Factor Electric, Inc. as an Operations Manager, managing a team of 50 technicians. In 2018, they worked for JITX as an Embedded Engineering Intern, developing AI enhanced, design tools to rapidly fulfill PCB design contracts. Timothy also worked for Space Technologies At California (STAC) as an Electronics Design Lead, leading a team through the hardware and software development cycle of a custom High Altitude Balloon Flight Controller. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher for Lab11 Embedded Systems Research, UC Berkeley, where they were responsible for hardware/software development of sensor platforms for Energy Grid Modernization. In 2020, they became the Co-Founder & CEO of Gridware.

Timothy Barat has obtained a variety of educational qualifications throughout their academic career. In 2009, they earned a Certificate II in Electrotechnology from Victoria University. Timothy then attended 370 Degrees Group TAFE and received a Certificate III in Electrotechnology in 2010-2013. In 2013, they obtained a Certificate IV in Electrotechnology from GippsTAFE. Timothy then attended Sierra College from 2015-2017, where they earned an Associate of Science in Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematics. Finally, they attended UC Berkeley College of Engineering from 2017-2020, where they earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Additionally, they hold a California General Electrician certification from the Department of Industrial Relations.
