Michelle Plaisance serves as the Director of International Partnerships and holds multiple academic titles including Professor of English and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Dean of the School of Humanities, Academic Dean, Graduate TESOL Director, and Associate Professor at Greensboro College since May 2014. Responsibilities include curriculum development, course planning, institutional assessment, faculty training, academic advising, course design, and online course development. Since January 2021, Michelle has been an English Language Specialist with the U.S. Department of State. Previously, from August 2010 to August 2014, Michelle was a Teacher Educator at UNC Charlotte, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses for pre- and in-service teachers. Michelle earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May 2014 and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from the same institution in 2009.
