Liz Henkel-Lorenz has over two decades of experience in education, currently serving as Curriculum Lead and Content Lead for Humanities at Great Minds since February 2020. Prior experience includes teaching 8th Grade English Language Arts at KIPP NYC from July 2018 to February 2020 and holding various teaching and leadership roles at Harlem Village Academies from August 2006 to July 2018, including teaching 11th and 12th Grade English and serving as Academic Coordinator and Social Media Manager. Earlier positions include teaching 10th and 11th Grade English at St. Francis Preparatory School and teaching English Language Arts as a NYC Teaching Fellow at M.S. 222. Liz Henkel-Lorenz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Creative Writing from Bard College and a Master of Education in Secondary English Education from The City College of New York.
