Mike Urbas has a strong work history in the casino and gaming industry. Mike started their career at River Rock Casino Resort in 2004 as a Maintenance Engineer and worked their way up to Assistant Chief Engineer and Maintenance Shift Supervisor. In 2008, they became the Chief Engineer at River Rock Casino Resort. Mike then joined the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation in 2012 as an Energy Manager & Commissioning Engineer before being promoted to Director of Engineering and Energy Management. Mike eventually became the Regional Director of Facilities & Sustainability in 2019. Throughout their career, Mike has shown expertise in facilities management, energy management, and engineering.
Mike Urbas earned an Associate Certificate in Sustainable Energy Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2010-2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Power Engineering from the same institution in 2002-2004. Additionally, they have acquired certifications such as Construction Safety Officer from the Care Institute of Safety and Health Inc. in April 2013, Commissioning Process Management Professional from ASHRAE in February 2013, and Certified Energy Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers in December 2011.
