Matthew Cooleen, CPA CGMA, is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in risk regulatory and compliance banking advisory. As a Partner at Grant Thornton LLP since 2017, Matthew serves as the Global Head of Banking and leads the US Mortgage Industry practice. Matthew's background includes leadership roles at Deloitte, where significant advisory work was conducted for major banking institutions, and founding HudsonCross Financial, where a distressed mortgage fund was established. Previous positions include Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, EVP at Chubb Insurance, President at AIG Special Situations Funds Group, and Head of Structured Finance at BNP Paribas. An early career experience at Arthur Andersen & Co. provided a foundation in auditing and finance. Matthew holds a BSBA in Accounting from Fordham Gabelli School of Business.
