Cynthia Welton has a comprehensive work experience in the healthcare field. Cynthia started their career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at various healthcare institutions such as St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, Hamilton Health Sciences, and Credit Valley Hospital. Cynthia then took on roles as a Professional Practice Lead-Respiratory Therapy and a Quality and Patient Safety Consultant at Credit Valley Hospital. Cynthia also worked at Halton Healthcare Services as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

In 2012, they joined Trillium Health Partners, where they held multiple positions including Clinical Lead, Quality Department, Manager of Quality Operations and Patient Safety, and Interim Manager, Quality Improvement. From 2017 to 2023, Cynthia worked as the Manager of Quality Operations and Patient Safety at Trillium Health Partners.
