Sara Thorslund has a diverse range of work experience. Sara started their career in 2001 at Pharmacia Diagnostics AB, where they worked in quality control for nine months. In 2007, they joined Uppsala University as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on on-chip solutions for single cell sorting and microfluidic surface modifications. Sara'sresearch at Uppsala University resulted in patents and publications in highly regarded journals. Since 2009, Sara has been the CEO of Gradientech AB, a life science biotech company specializing in microfluidic cell-based assays and software solutions. Additionally, Gradientech's microfluidic technology has shown promise in the field of rapid quantification of bacterial antibiotic susceptibility. Sara's goal at Gradientech is to become one of the world's top five providers of innovative products for cell response analysis.
Sara Thorslund received their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from The University of Edinburgh in 1997. From 1997 to 2003, they pursued a Master's degree in Engineering Biology at Linköping University. In 2000 and 2001, Sara also had an academic experience at the University of Botswana, Harry Oppenheimer Okavango Research Centre, although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned. Finally, from 2003 to 2006, Sara attended Uppsala University, where they obtained their PhD in Microstructure Technology.
