Nuala Byrne possesses extensive experience in data governance, digital business support, and technical management within various organizations. Currently, Nuala serves as the Head of Data Governance Support at the Department of Public Expenditure, specifically within the Office of Government CIO (OGCIO) since December 2020. Prior to this role, Nuala worked at Dublin City Council from January 2006 to November 2020 in Digital Business Support within the IS Department, focusing on service delivery and project management. Nuala's career also includes a significant tenure at Aer Lingus as a Developer and Technical Manager in the IS Department from August 1992 to January 2005, where work involved IBM S/390 Assembler programming for the Departure Control System. Nuala has an Advanced Diploma in Data Protection Law from The Honorable Society of King's Inns, a Master of Business Studies in Information Systems from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, and a Bachelor of Business Studies from Dublin City University.
