Roger Fleig is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in machine learning, data infrastructure, and software development. Currently serving as Director of Engineering for Core Machine Learning at Google Cloud Technical Infrastructure, Roger leads a team of 40 engineers to develop essential infrastructure and services powering machine learning across Google's product ecosystem. Previous roles at Google include directing engineering efforts for Vertex AI, Core Data Infrastructure, Google-wide Code Health, and Google Shopping, where Roger has consistently driven innovation and scaled solutions. Prior to Google, Roger held significant positions at Microsoft, contributing to AdCenter, SQL Server, and various messaging technologies. Roger holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geophysics from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
