Chandu Thota is a seasoned engineering executive with extensive experience in technology leadership, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at Google since August 2011. In this role, Chandu oversees various divisions, including Google DeepMind, Google Cloud, Google Maps, and other key product areas. Prior to joining Google, Chandu co-founded The Dealmap, where responsibilities included product strategy and securing over $10 million in venture funding. Chandu began a career at Microsoft Corporation as a founding member of the Virtual Earth project, contributing to the development of Bing Maps. Previous roles include Technical Lead at Click Commerce Inc and Senior Software Engineer at Satyam Computers. Chandu holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Osmania University.
