Emma Burns has been working in various roles since 2018. Emma began as a Service Learning Leader and Trip Leader at Elon University in 2018. In 2019, they took on the role of Diversity and Inclusion Intern at Cushman & Wakefield. In 2021, they became a Social Justice Fellow at Repair the World and an Intern at CityGate DreamCenter. Currently, they are an Operations Associate at GoodrCo.

Emma Burns has a diverse educational background. Emma attended Saint Francis High School from 2013 to 2017. From 2017 to 2021, they attended Elon University and earned a degree in Human Service Studies and Spanish. In 2019, they attended Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina 'Santa María de los Buenos Aires' for a short period of time. In 2020 and 2021, they attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and earned a Certified Integrative Health Coach. Emma also holds certifications in Leave No Trace from the Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics obtained in April 2019 and a Suicide Interventionist Certification from the QPR Institute.
