Lauren Port is a casting director who has worked on Broadway, Off Broadway, regional theatre, TV, and independent film productions. Lauren is currently the casting director at Goodman Theatre in Chicago.
Port began their career in 2009 as a casting assistant with MelCap Casting. There, they worked on Broadway productions such as Fences, Lend Me a Tenor, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, The House of Blue Leaves, Stick Fly, Seminar, Death of a Salesman, Grace, Dead Accounts, Orphans, and The Trip to Bountiful. Lauren also worked on the feature films Love and Other Drugs and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and the TV shows Rubicon (AMC), The Newsroom (HBO), Steel Magnolias (Sony for Lifetime), HairBrained (dir. Billy Kent), and Ironside (NBC).
In 2012, Port moved to Caparelliotis Casting where they served as casting director for Broadway, Off Broadway, regional theatre, TV, and independent film productions. Some of their notable projects include the Broadway productions of Second Stage, Manhattan Theater Club, Atlantic Theater Company, The Old Globe, The Goodman Theater (Chicago), Arena Stage (DC), American Conservatory Theater (San Francisco), among others.
Port is familiar with the rules and regulations of Actor's Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. Lauren is also adept at writing breakdowns and negotiating deals.
