Andrew Leung began their career in 2014 when they joined Imperial College London as a Ph.D in Process Engineering. Their project title was "Ammonolysis in Flow: Selective amination of alcohols to primary amines" and they were supervised by Professor Klaus Hellgardt. During their time at Imperial College London, Andrew experienced gas, liquid and solid separation in a process, synthesized primary amines with 100% selectivity from alcohols, screened through 20 different catalysts to find the best candidate for this reaction, designed and built their own high-pressure batch and packed-bed flow reactors, scaled up from batch reaction using flow process chemistry and reaction engineering, and used various lab techniques and modeling tools. In 2020, Andrew became a Co-Founder of Good Food Technologies, where they strive to achieve the ultimate form of good food.
Andrew Leung's education history includes attending Imperial College London from 2008 to 2019, where they earned a MSci in Chemistry with Molecular Physics in 2012, an MRes in Green Chemistry in 2013, and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2019. Prior to attending Imperial College London, they attended Epsom College from 2003 to 2008.
