Lianne Barnes has a diverse work experience. Lianne started their career as a Summer Camp Counsellor at Whiteside Taylor Daycare in 2013 and continued in this role until 2014. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at Concordia University, first as Vice President Communications & Promotions and then as Vice President External & Sustainability. In 2016, Lianne joined Airbnb as a Sales & Service/Project Administrator, where they worked until 2017. Lianne then joined Bus.com in 2018 as a Business Development Manager and later transitioned to the role of Partnerships Manager, working with clients such as Cirque Du Soleil and Special Olympics. In 2020, Lianne joined GoMaterials as a Manager of Supplier Development, where they built partnerships with suppliers, implemented project management principles, created core processes, and sought opportunities to create value for the company and its suppliers.

Lianne Barnes has a diverse education history. Lianne obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication and Media Studies from Concordia University, attending from 2014 to 2017. In 2015 and 2016, they also pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Culture, Film & at the University of Nottingham.

Continuing their education, Lianne went on to complete a Certificate in Cinema, Video, and Communication from Dawson College between 2012 and 2014. Lianne then furthered their studies at McGill University, where they earned a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication in April 2021. Additionally, Lianne completed a Certificate in Graduate Studies from McGill University, specializing in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication, from 2018 to 2021.

Apart from their formal education, Lianne has acquired additional certifications. In October 2021, they completed The Climate Reality Leadership Training offered by The Climate Reality Project. Furthermore, they obtained a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from McGill University in April 2021.
