Ala Akkad has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They began their professional career in 2016 at CareMore Care Center, where they worked as a Client Outreach and Marketing specialist for a short period. In 2017, Ala Akkad joined RefugeeOne as a Case Management professional. The following year, they worked at the Veteran Affairs Central Iowa Healthcare System as a Quality and Safety specialist. From 2017 to 2019, Ala Akkad held multiple positions at Grinnell College, including Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations Research Assistant, Employer Engagement & Relations, Arabic Department Teaching Assistant, and Arabic Language Tutor.

In 2019, Ala Akkad joined Morningstar, where they participated in the Morningstar Development Program and later transitioned to the role of Operations Specialist in the Talent & Culture department. In 2021, they joined Brookfield Asset Management as a Human Resources Associate, gaining more experience in the HR field. Currently, Ala Akkad is working as a Human Resources Business Partner Analyst at Golub Capital, starting in November 2022.
