Robert van den Heuvel is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and product management. Currently serving as Director of Software Engineering at Elsevier since December 2019, Robert has successfully scaled engineering teams across Amsterdam and Dayton, achieving notable transformations. Previously, as Head of Product and Technology at eBay Inc for 2dehands.be, Robert led the team to establish the site as Belgium’s largest classifieds platform. Additional roles include Owner of Sheeptight, CTO of CLIQ Digital, and Managing Director at Virtual Affairs Bulgaria, where Robert managed diverse software projects and developed technical solutions for various clients. Robert's educational background includes an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and a diploma in Analytics from eCG Analytics University.
