Jacob "Jake" Smith currently serves as the VP of Food Safety and Quality at Gold Creek Foods since March 2023. Previously, Jake held multiple roles at Fieldale Farms Corporation from October 2014 to March 2023, including Quality Assurance Manager and SQF Practitioner, where responsibilities included developing and maintaining programs for a SQF Level 3 facility and overseeing training and verification activities related to food safety and quality. Jake's earlier experience includes a management trainee role in Quality and Food Safety at Auburn University, as well as various internships that provided comprehensive exposure to the poultry industry and international trade. Jake earned a Ph.D. in Poultry Science with a focus on Food Safety from Auburn University, along with a Master of Science in Poultry Science and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology from The University of Georgia.
