Daniel J. Blinka

an Blinka is a member of the Litigation Practice Group and the Government Investigations, White Collar & Compliance team in the firm’s Milwaukee office. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, government enforcement actions and internal investigations.

Dan’s civil litigation experience includes a wide variety of matters in state and federal courts throughout the United States where Dan represents clients involved in matters that stem from mergers and acquisitions, theft of proprietary information, fraudulent transfers, embezzlement, professional liability and breach of contract.

Dan also conducts internal investigations and provides representation to clients under investigation by federal and state government regulatory agencies, including matters arising from supposed violations of securities regulations, banking regulations, heath care regulations, public company accounting regulations, among others. As a result, Dan has significant experience representing clients subject to private enforcement actions and/or investigations commenced by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), the Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC), the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), and the Financial Industry Regulation Authority (FINRA). Dan also has experience representing both targets of and witnesses associated with white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions brought by the United States Department of Justice and local district attorneys’ offices. Dan has conducted a number of internal investigations, typically involving employee embezzlement and/or whistleblower allegations about regulatory violations.

Dan serves his community through involvement with various organizations. He is presently a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Board of Governors and serves on a Milwaukee Bar Association standing committee that aims to improve access to justice.

Dan previously worked as a special prosecutor and for the Wisconsin Innocence Project.
