Thom Oman started their work experience in 2015 at Zappi, where they initially worked as a Client Delivery member. Later on, they became a Core Developer, responsible for developing and maintaining various aspects of the online store and data collection service. After around a year, they formed the User Management team, focusing on building a user authentication and authorization service with enterprise-level management capabilities. In 2019, Thom joined GoCardless as a Software Engineer and eventually progressed to become a Technical Lead. Currently, they hold the role of Senior Software Engineer at GoCardless.

Thom Oman attended King Edwards VI High School from 2006 to 2011, during which they pursued several subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Music, Further Mathematics (AS, Self-taught), and Psychology (AS). Following this, from 2011 to 2015, Thom enrolled at the University of Leeds, where they pursued an Integrated Masters (MMath) in Mathematics.
