Samvruta Tumuluru has a diverse range of work experience in various companies. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. From 2016 to 2017, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at the Biomedical Elasticity and Acoustic Measurements Lab. In 2018, Samvruta joined Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation as a Robotics Software Engineer, where they developed sensor device drivers, created a toolset for data visualization, and implemented image processing algorithms for object detection. Samvruta then worked as a Robotics Engineer at Built Robotics from 2019 to 2020. Starting in 2020, Samvruta joined Waymo as a Perception Software Engineer, where they took on the role of a tech lead for trailer pose estimation. Samvruta improved the algorithm, leading to significant reductions in false positive detections, disengages, and CPU usage. Additionally, they led a team in designing and integrating a ground truth data collection system for trailer pose. In 2023, Samvruta joined Glydways as a Senior Perception Engineer.
Samvruta Tumuluru pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, Samvruta attended Houston High School from 2010 to 2014.
