Veronique De Vroey has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Veronique started their career at Tibotec-Virco NV in 1997, where they served as the Director of Virology Lab Operations. During their time there, they led a team of over 80 scientists working on drug discovery and diagnostics for infectious diseases. Veronique was successful in developing and implementing diagnostic testing, optimizing and automating genotyping for high-throughput patient testing. Veronique also played a significant role in implementing lab certifications such as ISO and CAP-CLIA for diagnostic testing.
In 2009, Veronique joined Johnson & Johnson as the Director of Screening & Diagnostic Lab Operations. Veronique contributed their expertise in the C.R.E department before leaving in 2011.
From 2011 to 2017, Veronique worked as the Lab Manager of Clinical Biology at UZA, where they managed the laboratory operations.
Veronique then joined Galapagos in 2017 as the Director of In Vitro Biology. Veronique'sresponsibilities included strategy setting and operational management of compound logistics, HTS, compound profiling, and automation for multiple drug discovery projects. Veronique also led operational projects for the biology research teams.
In 2021, Veronique transitioned to the role of Head of Research Operations & Screening and became a Senior Director at Galapagos. Veronique took on responsibility for the strategy and operational management of compound logistics, HTS, compound profiling, and automation for drug discovery projects. Veronique expanded their role to include cell therapy profiling and became the program lead for cell therapy technical operations.

Veronique De Vroey completed their Master's degree in Bio-Engineer in cell & gene technology from KU Leuven, during the years 1992-1997. Veronique also attended the Vlerick Business School from 2006-2007 and earned a diploma in general management. In 2009-2010, they participated in the Ascend JnJ EMEA Women Leadership Program at the UCT Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town. Before entering their higher education, they attended Vita et Pax collega from 1984-1992, although no degree or field of study was specified.
