Veerle Akkermans currently serves as the Operational Excellence Lead - Associate Director at Galapagos, having held several key positions including Associate Director Operations Strategy and Cell Therapy Program Lead QM&SC since March 2021. Veerle is responsible for coordinating strategic, operational, and innovation projects within the Quality and Supply Chain organization. Prior to this role, Veerle worked as a Strategic & Operational Project Manager QA at Ordina Belgium from January 2020 to March 2021 and as a Project Engineer at UAntwerpen from October 2015 to December 2019. Veerle completed a PhD candidacy with a focus on a SB fellowship of the Research Foundation Flanders at the University of Antwerp and earned a Master of Science in Industrial Sciences: Biochemistry from the same institution in 2015.
