Anna Pereira-Fernandes has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Anna has been with Galapagos since 2013, where they have held various roles. Currently, they are serving as the Associate Director of Search & Evaluation and is responsible for scouting and evaluating external assets, conducting strategic technology landscaping, and coordinating research activities. Previously, they were the Scientific Coordinator of the Search and Evaluation team, leading the evaluation of external assets and designing full research plans. Anna has also held roles as Team Leader in vitro Cell Pharmacology and Senior Scientist in Cellular Pharmacology, where they conducted preclinical drug discovery research and developed cellular and molecular assays. Prior to joining Galapagos, Anna completed a PhD at the University of Antwerp, focusing on the development of an in vitro screening system for detecting obesogenic substances in the environment.
Anna Pereira-Fernandes completed their Master's degree in Bio-engineering at Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 2004 to 2009.
