Douglas Webster has a diverse work experience in mechanical engineering spanning several companies and roles. Douglas started their career as a Project Management Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory in 2002. Douglas then worked as a Student Mechanical Engineer, conducting mechanical design for supporting structures at the DARHT facility. After that, they joined RoadNarrows Robotics as a Mechanical Engineer, where they focused on product development and prototyping, particularly in the field of robotic systems. In 2009, they moved to SA Robotics as a Mechanical Engineer II. At Wolf Robotics, they served as both a Project Engineer and later as a Project Manager, leading integration of industrial automation systems and managing cross-functional teams. Following that, they joined Sphero as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, responsible for the mechanical design and production of various products. Currently, they are employed at Glowforge as a Principal Mechanical Engineer, overseeing product design engineering and supporting customer success.

Douglas Webster completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology from 2001 to 2005. Douglas then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical/Motorsports Engineering from Colorado State University from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, they obtained certifications from the American Welding Society (AWS) including CRAW-T in August 2013 and CWI in October 2012.
