Michael Smith has worked in a variety of roles throughout their career. Michael began their professional career in 1985 as the Director of Public Service University for the City of Albuquerque. In 2000, they started their own consulting business, Michael R. Smith Consulting. In 2003, they became the President of Synergistic Learning Consultants and an Adjunct Professor at National American University. In 2013, they took on the role of President at Raymond Robert Business Development and Chief Operations Officer at Innovate-Educate. Finally, in 2014, they became the Vice President of Business Development at Glocal Classroom, Inc.

Michael Smith attended the University of Phoenix from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained a Master of Arts in Organizational Management (MAOM). Michael then attended Capella University from 2003 to 2009, where they studied Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
